Refund and Cancellation Policy

How this policy works

This Refund and Cancellation Policy applies to services supplied by Ranklity Marketing, a sole proprietorship operated by Manas Ranjan Sahoo and trading as Ranklity.

We agree each engagement around its scope, timetable and deliverables. This policy explains the general process for ending the work, calculating the final account and returning money where a refund is due. It forms part of the engagement when supplied and accepted with the proposal or service agreement.

A specifically agreed service term may give you additional rights. It cannot remove a right that applicable law makes mandatory. We do not operate a blanket no-refund policy.

The monthly advance and final invoice

Our normal arrangement is a 50% advance against the agreed monthly estimate, followed by a month-end reconciliation and final invoice. The advance already received is deducted from that invoice. The process normally repeats for the next month unless we agree something different in writing.

An advance is a payment towards the work. If the engagement ends before all of it has been earned or properly applied, we calculate the amount due and refund any excess, subject to the rules below and applicable law.

Giving ordinary cancellation notice

Either party may end an ongoing engagement by giving one calendar month’s written notice, unless a different lawful arrangement has been expressly agreed.

For ordinary contractual cancellation, send an email or a signed physical letter to the contact details at the end of this policy. State your name or business name, the relevant engagement and the intended final service date. Please make the intention to cancel clear; no special legal wording is required.

We confirm receipt and the final service date. The notice normally runs from receipt and expires on the corresponding date in the following calendar month, or that month’s final day if there is no corresponding date. An earlier end can be agreed in writing.

We do not use casual WhatsApp messages as the agreed administrative method for ordinary contractual cancellation. This channel preference does not take away a statutory cancellation right or invalidate a legally effective notice that must be accepted through another method. A valid exercise of a right does not depend on us choosing to approve it.

You may also have a right to terminate immediately for a serious breach or another legally recognised reason. The one-month notice arrangement does not postpone such a right.

Work during the notice period

We agree the remaining work, approvals, publication dates and handover during the notice period. You should not be charged for an extra month merely because a final service date falls partway through it.

If we both agree to stop work earlier, we confirm the actual final service date and the effect on the account. If a project is paused, please obtain written confirmation of whether the timetable, reserved capacity and any charges are also paused; a pause is not automatically a new paid commitment.

Calculating the final amount

The final account includes only amounts properly due under the accepted engagement:

  • The value of services delivered through the agreed or legally effective final service date.
  • Approved additional work already performed.
  • Authorised third-party costs that are properly chargeable and cannot reasonably be recovered, but only where disclosure and applicable law permit the deduction.
  • Applicable tax adjustments, less advances, credits and previous payments already received.

For a genuinely time-based monthly service, a part-month fee is normally calculated proportionately to the service period in that billing month. If the agreed price is based on specified deliverables or milestones instead, we use the agreed completed stages or another fair documented measure. We will not charge both a full milestone value and a time-based amount for the same work.

If cancellation happens in the first month, the same principle applies: we account for work properly performed up to the final service date rather than automatically retaining the whole advance or demanding an unearned full-month fee.

Any claim for an unserved contractual notice period must be separately justified under the agreement and law. This policy does not impose an automatic full-month penalty or allow double recovery.

When a refund may be due

A refund may be due where:

  • An advance exceeds the properly calculated final amount.
  • You have paid twice, paid too much or been charged in error.
  • We cannot provide an agreed service and there is no acceptable alternative or another applicable remedy is due.
  • Work does not meet the agreement or a legally required standard and the appropriate remedy is a refund or price reduction.
  • You exercise a cancellation or other refund right under applicable consumer law.

Completed, properly performed work is not normally refunded merely because you later change direction or no longer need it. The absence of a hoped-for ranking, lead, follower increase or advertising result does not by itself establish a refund entitlement where no such outcome was promised. Equally, an outcome disclaimer does not excuse undelivered work or deficient services.

Advertising spend, subscriptions and other outside costs

Advertising spend paid directly to a platform is subject to that platform’s billing and refund process. Our management fees are assessed separately. Where we hold unused client funds, we reconcile them and return any amount that is due rather than treating it as our fee.

We obtain approval before purchasing client-specific subscriptions or making other additional commitments. If an approved supplier cost can be cancelled or refunded, we take reasonable steps to obtain the available credit and account to you for it. We do not label every outside cost non-refundable regardless of the circumstances.

An unapproved purchase, our own error or a statutory refund obligation is not automatically shifted to you as a deduction. Nothing in this section limits a remedy the law requires us to provide ourselves.

If there is a service problem

Please explain the issue and identify the agreed work that is affected. We assess the concern and offer the correction or other remedy required by the agreement and law. We do not require you to accept unlimited attempts at correction where you are legally entitled to cancel, reduce the price or receive a refund.

If we end an engagement, the same accounting principles apply. We explain the reason, give notice where required, arrange an appropriate handover and return any unearned balance that is due. We do not retain payment for work we elect not to provide without a lawful basis.

Consumer rights in different countries

Your purchase may have protections beyond our ordinary cancellation process. These depend on the country, the nature of the purchase and the applicable law; not every professional purchase is automatically exempt.

For Indian consumers, this policy does not remove remedies for deficient services, misleading practices or other rights under applicable consumer law. Any cancellation charge must be lawful and consistent with applicable e-commerce rules, including their treatment of unilateral cancellation by the provider.

For a UK consumer distance service contract covered by the Consumer Contracts Regulations, the normal cancellation period is 14 days after the day the contract is made. A clear cancellation statement is sufficient; you do not have to give a reason. We must provide the required pre-contract information and cancellation form. We do not start work within that period without your express request. A lawful proportionate payment for work supplied during that period may apply only where the legal conditions are met. The cancellation right is lost on full performance only if the required request and acknowledgement were obtained. Refunds required by those rules are made within their statutory deadline, generally 14 days after we are informed of cancellation, without an unlawful fee.

Where Australian Consumer Law applies, its guarantees and remedies are not excluded by this policy. Some business purchases are protected too. The available remedy depends on the service failure; we will not apply a no-refund statement to defeat a mandatory remedy.

For Saudi consumer transactions covered by the E-Commerce Law, a seven-day cancellation right may apply where the service has not been received or benefited from, subject to the law’s conditions and exceptions. The law also provides remedies for qualifying delay. These rights take priority over an inconsistent notice requirement.

In the United States, the UAE, the Philippines and other applicable markets, mandatory cancellation, renewal, service-quality and refund rules continue to apply. This policy does not invent one universal cooling-off period or treat customised marketing services as exempt from every country’s protections.

Requesting a cancellation or refund

Send your request to our email address or postal address below. A clear statement is enough; a special form is not compulsory unless a particular lawful process requires one. Please include:

  • Your name and the name used for the engagement.
  • The invoice, proposal or payment reference, if available.
  • The service concerned and the action you are requesting.
  • The date of your request and any relevant information about the issue.

Do not send a card security code, banking password or unnecessary identity document. We may need limited information to match the payment and prevent a refund being sent to the wrong person. This will not be used to create an unreasonable barrier to a lawful cancellation.

You can use this optional wording: Please cancel my engagement for [service], agreed on [date], under reference [reference]. My requested final service date is [date]. Please confirm the final account and any refund due. My name is [name], and my contact details are [details].

UK consumers entitled to the prescribed cancellation form will receive it with the required contract information; the optional wording above does not replace our obligation to supply that form.

Refund method and timing

We explain the calculation promptly and in writing, including any permitted deduction. We aim to initiate a due refund within seven business days after the final amount can reasonably be established. A mandatory deadline takes priority and is measured from the event specified by law, not postponed until we choose to approve a request.

Refunds normally go back through the original payment method, unless another lawful method is agreed. Bank or provider processing time may follow initiation. We provide a transaction reference where available. We do not force you to accept credit instead of money where you are entitled to a monetary refund.

Any tax adjustment, currency conversion or disclosed third-party charge must be handled consistently with the agreement and applicable law. We will not deduct a fee that the law prohibits or deduct our own payment error from your refund.

Complaints and contact

Manas Ranjan Sahoo handles cancellation, billing and customer complaints. We acknowledge consumer complaints within 48 hours and address them within one month, or sooner where applicable law requires. You retain access to any competent consumer authority, regulator, payment-provider dispute process or court available to you. You do not have to abandon a protected deadline while waiting for our response.

The Terms and Conditions explain the general engagement framework and governing-law arrangements. Changes to this policy apply prospectively and do not retrospectively remove an existing right.
